“Great sounding vintage compact synth in working order. It is missing a couple of slider tops and some of the Bank Select buttons require firm pressure but the keyboard itself is working perfectly. There is evidence of leakage in the battery compartment. The strap buttons on the side are missing but these could be easily replaced. The programmable DX100 has 49 mini-keys (4 octaves), and pitch and mod wheels in the upper left corner . It also has strap pegs on each end.

“This DX-100 is as clean a unit as you’ll find. Everything works perfectly and there is very little wear and tear on it that’s really visible in person. The photos accentuate it more than you would really see in person. The face and sides of the unit are clean. It looks pretty close to the way it did brand new. It has spent most of its life in a dust free studio inside an old Pu leather Realistic bag (included). The bag is well worn but it has kept the keyboard pretty pristine.

Also included is the original power supply, the original cassette of patches from the factory and a publicity flyer from the era.. sorry, I don’t have the manual but it can be found online.”

Shortly after, it took up residency in my bedroom closet where it remained until now nearly 40 years later. It is in near new condition with every function working and no noise from the pots once I sprayed them with contact cleaner. Basically a mini DX27.

Sometimes it starts up and functions fine and makes sound, other times it starts up and freezes, or displays gibberish. Overall the condition is okay, everything feels solid, no broken plastic, but it has a lot of scuffs and scratches. All keys produced sound although F#4 occasionally didn’t.
