“This listing is for a Roland JX3P that is modded with the KIWI 3P chip. I personally installed this myself; I have several years of build, repair and restoration experience so I stand behind my work and guarantee this will be a fully functioning synthesizer.
I would love to keep this but I simply have no space for it, so this should be in the hands of a true synth head 🙂

The KIWI mod significantly expands on the minimal controls that are available on the JX3P; full control of both DCO’s, VCF and its several mod parameters, LFO’s, Arpeggiator and Sequencer controls and 2 extra user banks for storage of custom presets and more. The mod takes this synth into the Juno/Jupiter 6 territory and you can use basically any midi controller for parameter controls! Since the mod essentially requires me to take apart the synthesizer, it’s been cleaned inside, contact cleaner used on the keyboard contacts and potentiometers and one white key was chipped so it’s been replaced with a new key. Aside from the surface scoffs and a couple of scratches, the bottom board has seen better days visually, but is sturdy and intact, and new rubber feet have been installed as well.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

-Could not test Seq. Trigger, Tape Memory, or programmer ins because I do not have the programmer module.

” There’s some very noticeable cosmetic wear (scrapes, scuffs, a few areas of flaked-off finish, several minor dents, worn spots in the screened lettering and graphics, a chip missing on the underside of one key, etc.) but it’s functioning as it should.

” I bought this in 2021, however I’ve realised it’s a bit out of my league, and so I am selling it on.

The collection would be in person from a public place in central or west London.

I don’t quite know enough about synthesisers to know if absolutely everything is 100% working.

However, it does seem in generally good shape.

I can tell you that:

– the unit emits a hum when switched on, which is perhaps to be expected
– the keys all move smoothly, and there are no obvious chips or cracks in them
– all keys sound
– it seems to be in tune
– the wheels and sliders all move fine
– the volume pot is slightly crackly, but nothing too severe
– all presets sound
– the sequencer was briefly tested (i.e. not fully), and what I tested seemed to work
– the sequencer playback was responsive to changes in sound by scrolling through a few of the preset buttons
– the sequencer tie and rest functions incremented the sequencer on to the next step
– the vast majority of parameters from the edit map were responsive to changes. Only in a minority of cases could I not detect any change when trying to adjust the parameter value
– cosmetically the unit is in very good shape
– I tried briefly to save 2 custom sounds, this worked
– I briefly tested using another keyboard to play the JX3P via MIDI, and vice versa, and in both cases it worked” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Roland JX3P Vintage Analogue Polyphonic Synthesizer Used in need of maintenance.

This is a vintage synth which is working but is in need of some tlc to bring it back to its former glory. It is missing a volume knob and sensitivity knob. All keys depress and sound except for the lowest D (2nd white key lower keyboard) which does not depress. All other buttons and controls work.

Great sounding polyphonic synthesiser with warm analogue pads and great bass sounds. All buttons and sliders function with the exception of the key transpose button which does not work and a couple of the others were a little harder to push than the rest. All of the keys play well.
