I have plugged this in and as you can see by the photos the screen does light up.

Further than this no further testing has been carried out, I wouldn’t even know how, this is an house clearance item and being sold as is.

Comes with its flight case however the foam inside has perished but it will serve well for delivery.

Cosmetically this looks to be in very good condition.

Obviously will need some TLC; needs the upper 5 keys, is missing all screws for the bottom panel, contacts under buttons and keys need to be cleaned. “ou are bidding on Roland D-50 linear synthesizer from 80′ era, the synth is in pretty good shape with some very small marks here and there-see pictures. It’s been tested and seems she works, but I noticed a few buttons like #6 and #8 and 2-3 more+ sometimes work, sometimes not or you have to push t harder even a few times. Synth has not been used several years and probably she need some contact cleaning, well, it’s your project. Meanwhile all keys work, display is good, all inputs and outputs work, joystick, sliders, vector joystick etc work fine. The synth goes with power cord, no any other accessories. Due an age and vintage nature item goes as is, no return, but as I said mostly works fine. Due those a few small issues the synth goes twice !!! cheaper, see pictures. Stand is not included, only the synth and power cord(not original) for sale”

” Roland D-50 D50 LA Linear Synthesizer Synth MIDI 80s classic. Big brother of D10, D110, D20, D05 & MT32, and keyboard version of the D550. I actually owned a D550 with the MEx expansion & programmer (amazing combo).

All keys work. All functions work. I changed the battery and memory was reloaded (see pictures). FYI : “You will need to hold down the data transfer button while hitting the bulk dump or bulk load and press enter. Hold the data transfer button down while pressing the other buttons down or else it wont work. Most D-50 require this and some don’t.” In case you are the auction winner & need to reload sysex files! 🙂

There is a small crack in the case which does effect usage of the 3 buttons to the right of the faders, but is probably a simple fix.

“Up for sale… a very, very clean and perfectly working Roland D-50 Analog Linear Polyphonic Synthesizer 61Key keyboard including it’s original authentic Roland hard shell carrying case, new power cord and 8 sound cards of which 6 are recordable RAM cards and all are loaded with very popular and some hard to find custom sounds!
I am the second owner of this unit and have had it for more than 20 years.
It has been climate controlled stored for more than 15 years! All keys are excellent. All pots, buttons, and sliders are smooth without pops.
The keyboard itself has had 2 owners….the original owner was a professional musician who played it for several years and then I purchased it from him over 20 years ago. I played it for several years and then tucked it away in it’s case and stored it in a closet for more than 15 years thinking that I would eventually begin to play it again….and yet with work and other activities I never found the time to do it. It’s time to let someone else enjoy and near perfect unit that includes hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of extras!
I used this with a Roland PK-5 bass pedal board (which is also up for sale) and I purchased a number of sound cards for it when I first bought it. I have 8 in total still left….(some were lost through the years in move).
All functions on the keyboard work well with no noise in any of the controls…( joystick, modulator, volume and after touch).
The unit was originally programmed with some different sound banks from the factory programming when the first owner gigged with it and since I liked them so much I never bothered to change them back, but I do have card number -00 which is the factory loaded bank of sounds so that you can either use the card or transfer from the card to the keyboard if you wish to do so. I think you’ll find that what’s currently loaded is excellent though!
There is some wear to the lettering on the back just at the pedal inputs, but is still legible and does not affect the unit in any way… I am only posting this to be as honest as I can about the condition of the unit. The lettering can be seen in my photo section.
Also…. One of the RAM recordable cards is reading “illegal card” when inserted. I understand that this might just need to have the card contacts cleaned, but I do not know for sure and therefore am stating that of the 8 cards advertised only 7 of them are actually operational at this point. Still….at a minimum cost of more than $50 per card on these…( and sometimes up to more than $80 which was their original cost back in the 80’s)…there is more than $350 minimum value just in the cards alone!”

“It powers on and will move through the functions. I hooked it up to a small amp couldn’t get any sound to come out. I don’t know if there’s an issue or it’s because there’s no memory card,or exactly why there’s no sound coming out. it might work fine it might have problems. on the right side there’s something inside loose. Might be a small piece of plastic or a screw I can hear it when I move the keyboard. comes with a Forge 2 hard case. The guy I bought this from said it worked and everything else that I bought from him has worked but I’m not 100% sure so I’m selling it for parts or repair. the price reflects that I think”
