“I loved using this classic synth in my hardware setup, but I’m focusing more on writing music entirely on the computer, and because of that, this synth needs to find a new owner who will make good use of it.
“Up for sale is a fantastic Oberheim Matrix 1000. The bass sounds on this are really fat and so are the lush evolving pads. I’m moving out of the country so I’m selling some gear. This is sad to let go because It’s a great sounding analog synth that only takes up 1 rack unit.
“MATRIX 1000:Very Good to Excellent Condition. There is a tad of rack rash on the top of the unit. A few minor dings at the edge of the front panel, but you really have to look hard for those. The display screen is perfect, all buttons are fully intact and clean. Control knob and MIDI are jacks in very good condition. Overall condition is excellent!STEREOPING 1016R:Like New! Flawless Condition.”

“This Oberheim Matrix 1000 was fully functional until someone had it for a few weeks and did something to it. It will not start up now. The fuse looks good and didn’t blow but it shows no display activity now. All six voices and all functions worked prior to shut-down. It may be the power supply, or regulators, or display, or something else. Since I haven’t got the equipment or expertise for the task, it must go. No returns. The six narrow CEM3396 chips are all present. See pics. Includes power cable, fuse, screws, and the synthesizer as shown. Heavily double-boxed for travel.”
“Oberheim matrix 1000 analogue rack synth unit for sale by owner. Recently repaired faceplate, synth is in perfect working order but has some rusting on the bottom of unit that is purely cosmetic. ” 
“100% working. Normal scratches and scuffs, but no major damage. I think the LED window was once loose and is taped to face plate from inside. Original 1.11 firmware. Likely original battery that will need eventual replacing. I have owned this synth module since the late 90’s and it’s always been stored in climate controlled smoke free environment…and used very little during my ownership.”

I bought this unit back in the late 1990s and then purchased the new CEM 3396 chips around 2003.”

“This is the great Oberheim Matrix 1000, with 1000 pure analog patches. This synth packs so many sounds, it can be overwhelming. I’m also pairing it with an Alesis Qudraverb. The two together are perfect for most synth needs. The Obi works great but the volume pot is a little scratchy, I used it mainly with my Keystep for a year or so, and only in my house. From what I was told it is all original and no mods or updates have been done. Not sure if Ive gone through every patch, but the ones Ive used sounded amazing. Quadraveb is in decent shape, Ive noticed that if you move it around alot the output can cut off, but is not really an issue for studio usage.”
