“Up for auction is an ARP Solina String Ensemble Series 35 Serial number 0097710 Manufactured by B.V. Eminent, Bodegravan Holland. This I believe to be the original version as noted by Wikipedia. I am the second owner of this ARP. It has had little if any use over the past 40 years.
Issues:
1. When I obtained it, the previous owner had painted it white. I tried to remove as much of the paint possible. . The white flakes are remnants of the white paint.
2. The instrument as can be seen in the photos show the case to be in severe disrepair with cracks in the frame which were glued, and damage to the side board and bottom corner.
3. The push button switches are noisy and need to be cleaned (cello switch especially has intermittent contact).
Despite the appearance of the instrument case, the sound that made it famous is still fully functional. I have uploaded a demonstration of its functionality. Remember looks are deceiving.

“This vintage Omni is the sound of Joy Division and many other late 70’s/ early 80’s synth music. It’s rare, hard to find and needs servicing. It lights up but has no sound. With a little work, it’s a musicians dream. It has cosmetic imperfections, but the right person will still want to work with it.

” ARP Odyssey MKIII, Vintage Synth, Not Reissue, Used, Good Condition. I am not a synth or electronics tech but this synth is complete and appears to function when turned on and plugged in. It is very old and may need tuning or light repair to be stage or musuem quality. But overall it looks and plays great for its age. All the keys, buttons, and sliders work but there may need to be some cleaning or light repair to get it 100%. “It’s in really nice physical condition.It plays and sounds excellent.It has a lot of new parts.Almost every single capacitor was replaced, most of the 4000 series chips were socketed and replaced along with most of the opamps. It plays great but I did just notice if you have synthesizer bass 16 footage turned on the bass note at the keysplit makes a pulsing noise. “I have owned this ARP Quartet from new and it has been well looked after and the condition of the wooden and metal casing and paintwork is very good for the age. It has always been stored in its original box but the box is looking very worn now. There is a small area of flaked off paint on the rear of the keyboard that is visible in one of the photos. The sound is very good but there are two issues that i can see that you might want to get sorted if you purchased the keyboard. The volume slider dosen’t adjust the volume any longer so i adjust the volume via my amp so i have never bothered to get it fixed. All sounds and effects work except for the celest on the organ section. The slider has come loose and the celest sound is permanently off. This might need a new switch fitting.”

Sliders refurbished – It’s rare that Synthchaser will agree to restore the original sliders in these synthesizers, but when he does, he does it right! Power supply rebuilt – All tantalum and electrolytic capacitors in the power supply have been replaced, and high quality, high temperature 105 deg C capacitors have been used for the power supply filter capacitors.
All tantalum capacitors replaced – The tantalum capacitors in ARP synths are ticking time bombs. All of the over 100 tantalum capacitors in this synth, including the power supply and filter submodule, have been replaced with electrolytics to help provide stable operation for years to come.

“ARP 1613 sequencer, In excellent working condition, original 1970’s (I think 1976-77) made by ARP in the US, it has been used in a recording studio for the last 25 years and has been regularly maintained and serviced (power supply rebuilt, high quality trimpots and sliders all replaced three years ago), everything works smoothly and accurately and it is a joy to use, it can be synchronised with a simple audio cliick into the trigger/gate input as well as the usual trigger/gate voltages. The cv quantiser can be used externally, there are so many ways to use this unit, it always has rock solid timing and very accurate tuning, I’ve owned this for over 30 years and it has always performed faultlessly, will be sad to see it go.
Complete with the original manual (should be 36 pages, but unfortunately pages 17-20 are missing from the middle of the book, however I have found a copy of this manual online and reprinted these missing pages..)
This is an original 240 volt model made for the european market, it can be easily changed over to US 120 Volt internally.

This is the Arp 2600 model 2601 synthesizer, which has long been one of the most highly prized and sought after of the old modular analog synths. CONDITION:
All components are original except for 2 op amps. One for VCO-1 square wave out and the other for the Mixer amp. Additionally, the left speaker has been replaced. All have been tested and perform up to or better than original specifications.
The case of the synth has a few scratches on it and there is a small nick on the panel near the reverb sliders and on the keyboard panel upper right but overall with the restoration it looks really great. All knobs, slider caps and adjustment covers are present except one cover for the negative null which in no way affects operation. “1981 ARP Solus. In good working condition. The sliders and knobs are smooth, with the exception of the Release slider in the ADSR section which is stiff. A few sliders are intermittently scratchy. However, every knob and slider functions perfectly. Many of the keys are stiff, indicating that the keyboard bushings will need to be replaced soon. Other than the expected wear associated with long term use, cosmetically the unit is in quite good condition for its age, with no major blemishes.
