I bought this new in the mid 1970’s at Sam Ash Music on route 4 in Paramus N.J. It was upgraded by Roland about 6 months after purchase to increase output volume and to add a tuning pot for the external synthesizer.
It was working well when I put it in the closet 5 years ago, but now the synth only sounds string 2 and 6. It is most likely an easy fix but I am unable to troubleshoot it at this time.

I replaced the memory battery with a fresh Panasonic and a couple of the main caps with Elna Silmics and upgraded the display to an LED. “I have decided to sell my PAiA FatMan kit. I purchased this for a studio project but ended up not needing it. This is a complete kit as sold by PAiA.

I am including for free the rackmount face plate, so this is actually the complete Panel Bundle, but the panel has been kicked around in storage and has some paint damage (see photo). With this kit you can build the synth out as a rackmount, or you can purchase any of the other finishing options from the PAiA website. A chassis is not included, nor does PAiA sell a rackmount chassis. I believe they do sell a desktop chassis and faceplate. If you really do not want the rackmount faceplate I can exclude that from the package and issue a partial refund on shipping, since that piece is having a significant say on the size of the package.

“Up for sale, a 1980s Roland Juno-106 analog synthesizer in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced by Synapse Audio Systems, this Juno functions exactly as intended, outfitted with new voice chips, calibrated and loaded with the factory presets. The Juno 106 is one of the most enduringly popular Roland synths of the ’80s, virtually the same synth engine as its predecessor the Juno 60, yet with extensive MIDI capability and over twice the patch memory storage (128 patches).

The Juno-106 is a six-voice polyphonic and programmable analog synth with one digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) per voice. The Juno-106 uses built-in Chorus to fatten up its sound to dramatic effect too. The nature of the Juno’s DCO results in a sound that is stable, always in perfect tune, but still warm and analog. The Juno features an excellent 24dB/oct analog lowpass filter with plenty of resonance and self-oscillating possibilities as well as a non-resonant high pass filter. The programmable pitch/mod bender can be assigned to control the DCO pitch, VCF cutoff, and LFO amount all at once or individually.

All functions and features of this Juno operate as intended. A keyboard originally designed for sale within Japan, a new 120v power transformer has been installed, along with a new IEC power cable receptacle with chassis ground and a new battery. This is a clean example, with cosmetic wear limited to just a few minor marks on the enclosure, localized scratches on the upper right corner (north of the Juno text) and some scuffing on the bottom. The graphics are pristine, the key caps are bright white, and all slider caps and knobs are intact.

-Original orange LCD screen occasionally flickers between extra bright and normal brightness, usually on a cold start. Screen is still working otherwise. Small complaint there.

“This vintage ARP Odyssey has just been serviced by Synthchaser in March 2025 – recapped, new key bushings, all new LED sliders, fully functional, tuned and calibrated, and sounding awesome! The Odyssey was ARP’s answer to the Minimoog, a feature packed scaled down version of the legendary ARP 2600. This late model ARP Odyssey is equipped with the 4075 filter, a tasty 4 pole LPF found in all late model ARP synths.

The Mk III Odyssey has a cool Black & Orange design that complements other ARPs of the era, and has the PPC touch pads for pitch bend and vibrato (and yes, they are working on this Odyssey!)

The synth is in very good condition. The small panel underneath the synthesizer that provides access to the key contacts is not original. This synth comes with Orange illuminated LED sliders to complement the Orange & Black color scheme of this late model ARP. I can disable the illumination for the buyer before shipping, upon request at the time of purchase.

Work completed on the synth included:

Synthchaser Precision LED slider upgrade – All 34 of the old original sliders have been replaced with new, smooth, high precision LED illuminated sliders. The difference in the way these sliders feel and perform compared to the originals is a huge improvement. LEDs run off their own power supply mounted inside the synth.
Illuminated slider caps – Slider caps with a translucent plastic stripe that allows the LED illumination to shine through, while giving you something substantial to grip onto. They look and feel awesome!
Power supply rebuilt – All tantalum and electrolytic capacitors in the power supply have been replaced, and high quality, high temperature 105 deg C capacitors have been used for the power supply filter capacitors.
All tantalum capacitors replaced – The tantalum capacitors in ARP synths are ticking time bombs. All tantalum capacitors in this synth have been replaced with electrolytics to help provide stable operation for years to come.
4075 Filter Enhancement – This ARP Odyssey uses 4075 filter submodule found in all late model ARP synthesizers like the Quadra and the Omni. This filter was designed with a calculation error that limited the cutoff frequency. The 4075 filter submodule has been recapped, corrected to provide superior frequency response, and tested for proper operation in the Synthchaser custom test fixture

“For your consideration, here is a E-MU Emulator IV keyboard in good cosmetic condition in perfect working condition. I opened it up and removed the internal hard drive when I bought it some years ago because it was noisy making some kinda racket. I recommend a external Scsi drive to save sounds to, and also a CD-ROM drive if you want to buy preset sounds for it as there are many good Emulator sample libraries out there for the EIV. The floppy drive does work but does not provide sufficient space to save any longer samples or multiple samples.

I suppose someone may could install a card reader in place of the floppy drive, but I have never researched wether that is possible or not.

Oberheim Matrix-1000 w/ Kiwi-1000 mods & KiwiTechnics Patch Editor

“Up for grabs is a pair of Oberheim Matrix 1000 modules, both upgraded with the now-discontinued KiwiTechnics Kiwi-1000 v1.52 (the last supported version of the upgrade). Units will ship in a Gator 2U rack case.

Also included is a KiwiTechnics Patch Editor (also discontinued).

The upgrade modules have consecutive serial numbers, and the Oberheims have relatively close serial numbers. Because both units were meticulously serviced before the upgrades were installed, I have always considered these a “matched” pair. They are currently loaded with identical patch sets (2000 editable patches per unit!).

Matrix 1000 synths are mono-only: I used the pair to provide a lush stereo field by slightly detuning one unit and panning them hard-left/hard-right.

Servicing and upgrades were performed simultaneously by The Analog Lab.

Also included is a CD with all the firmware and documentation files that KiwiTechnics would give to me for both products. Please note that there is a version 1.60 of the Kiwi-1000 firmware, but I have been hesitant to use it because the product is now not supported.

Everything works perfectly, and the synths sound awesome. There are absolutely no issues – these synths are as rock solid as they come and work flawlessly. Roland SH-101 with Roland MGS-1 Modgrip

“Roland SH-101 Monophonic Bass Synthesizer Please Read Condition w/ Mod Grip

Unit works but I am not sure that it works 100%. I am not sure what each individual selector is supposed to do. Some of them do not seem to do anything.

Missing battery compartment cover and 2 of the level control knobs. Level can still be adjusted. At least 4 of the level controls are bent.

I wiped this down fairly well. It was quite dirty & dusty when I received it. It could still use more cleaning. There might be discoloration from smoke damage, I am unsure.

Strap buttons have mismatched screws & are the wrong size. Included AC adapter is an aftermarket replacement generic brand.

One screw on the bottom is missing.

Battery compartment is dirty but I do not see any evidence of battery leakage. Battery operation has not been tested.

Significant white noise is present especially when adjusting volume.

The only I/O tested was the 1/4″ jack. Other I/O may or may not work.

Only includes Roland SH-101, modulation grip & aftermarket generic AC adapter.

Does NOT include batteries (6 C 1.5V), instructions, cables, original packaging, amplifier, etc. An external keyboard amp and speakers are required for use.
